Steve Page - Vocals
Steve was born in Plumstead and has spent most of his life living in or around Eltham, South-East London. He first started singing with a band in 1981, and is a founding member of Nightshift. He spent a number of years in an amateur theatre company, during which time he wrote various sketches and one-act plays, as well as numerous comic songs for pantomimes.
His greatest achievement was to co-write a musical, called "Georgie", which was a great success, but, sadly, yet to be published.
Although the rest of the band would agree that his musical playing skills are, almost, non-existent, Steve's vocal range and ability enable him to tackle a wide range of song styles, such as Rock, Blues and Soul, and has played a key part in building up our extensive repertoire.
If he had to pick one style that suited him best, it would be Rock, but Soul would come a close second.
It would be hard for Steve to choose one particular song as a favourite, but, from the audience point of view, it would probably be "Mustang Sally", which is possibly due to a resemblance between him and a certain member of The Commitments……but he was here first! |
